Here's an idea...How about everybody make pasta the way they WANT to because they LIKE it. If they want to make it with a traditional recipe, more power to them. If they want to be innovative, go for it!If pasta is Italian, then any variation thereof can also be considered, to some degree, italian. If americans make changes to suit their own tastes, maybe the pasta is Italian-American. Like black people are African Americans. Nothing wrong with that. Cook what you want, how you want!

Wow... Every1 needs to calm down... jeesh. First off it's just one simple way to make pasta. Even in Italy, they have about 1000+ ways to make pasta. And Foccacia bread? Wow... you guys must not have lives...It's called taking an exsisting recipe and personalizing it... and American's dont destroy everything they touch. Dont be an ignorant ass...
